CHEERIO Royals!
Here are my thoughts on the UK-based monthly beauty subscription ‘Glossy Box’. Now you may have noticed that my title says, “Non-Sponsored”. The reason for that is that Glossy Box sent sponsored PREVIEW boxes to several beauty bloggers back in April. These boxes were extremely misleading because they contained all FULL-SIZED products and a mini booklet that had beauty tips from around the world.
The box I received last month is a more accurate representation of what you’d actually be getting. I’ve got a lot of pics with this one, so let me go ahead and get the pros and cons of this subscription out of the way:
PROS
- QUALITY: Hands down Glossy Box has the best quality products and packaging thus far. Their presentation is phenomenal. The box is so luxurious, there’s no way you’ll be throwing it away. The products were all in my opinion deluxe samples, which is what you’d expect from a beauty subscription. I for one do not want food or free perfume samples in my monthly beauty box.
- FULL-SIZE PRODUCTS: I loved that they included full sized products. Granted their along the main stream picks for full sized products, but I was satisfied. Some subscription don’t include them…ever.
CONS
- PRICE: At $21, this beauty subscription leaves a bad taste in my mouth. If it wasn’t for the cost, I wouldn’t think twice about canceling. I can honestly say that if I ever get a bad box this subscription has to go. That’s too much money to spend and not be satisfied. For the price of ONE Glossy Box, I can get TWO months of Birchbox and have a $1 left over to buy some chocolate…
- SHIPPING: Their shipping method is HORRENDOUS!!! It took 9 DAYS to get from New Jersey to Alabama! That’s ridiculous and absolutely unacceptable. They’re using the cheapest method of shipment available and I don’t appreciate it. If you’re like me; You get your my tracking information and
stalkclick that link everyday. Imagine doing that for 9 days….Just thinking about it makes me want to cancel. I ordered a pair of L.A.M.B. sandals from ShopBop yesterday, and they’ll be here by Friday.
